Doyle Scholarship application period extended to June 30
Local high school seniors from the Class of 2016 have a new opportunity to apply for Doyle Scholarships or Doyle Trustee Awards of up to $1,000 to attend Santa Rosa Junior College during the 2016-17 academic year. The 2016-17 Doyle Scholarship application has been reopened through June 30.
Funds are available for a wide range of students, including those who want to complete an associate’s degree, those who want to eventually transfer to a four-year institution, and those working on career and technical certificate programs. Students can access the online applications by visiting the SRJC Scholarship Office’s online bulletin board busapp02.santarosa.edu/SRScholarship/ScholarshipAwards.aspx.
Doyle Scholars will receive $500 for the fall 2016 semester provided that they enroll at SRJC full-time (at least 12 units) and complete SRJC’s student success steps. Then they have the opportunity to receive the second $500 award for the spring 2017 semester, as long as they maintain satisfactory academic progress, enroll full-time at SRJC for spring 2017, and develop a long-term education plan with an SRJC counselor.
For the Doyle Scholarship, high school students who graduated in the 2015-2016 academic year and have an overall (unweighted) grade point average of 2.75 or higher are eligible. More information is available at scholarships.santarosa.edu/doyle-scholarship.
