Surf craft on display

People have made surfboards for centuries. Standing alone, these boards are often striking examples of functional design. Together, they tell a compelling story about the evolution of a significant global art form. Ancient craft, American innovation and design, and cutting-edge engineering harmoniously converge in the Sonoma Valley Museum's new exhibition devoted to surfboards built from the early 20th century to the present day. The exhibit runs July 1-Sept. 24, with a variety of programs held throughout the run to celebrate the art of surfing. Check the museum website for details.
