Hot diggity dog!

Sixty-plus dogs and their loyal owners showed up for the Oakmont Dog Show on Aug. 6 outside the Berger Center, an Oakmont Village Association event that prompted lots of smiles and wagging tails. Dogs were entered into a number of categories, including Best Dressed, Most Radiant Rescue, Best Dog Buddies, Longest Tail – you get the picture. Spectators and pet owners munched on – what else? – hot dogs, as they cheered the canines and their handlers. Petco was on hand with goodies, and Animal Rescue brought adoptable dogs. Above, two Corgi-Spaniel mixes, Penny and Mr. Finn, eye the hot dog of owner Mary Coussan. Mr. Finn won the Prettiest Eyes contest. Next to Coussan is Beth Finnegan with Sadie, who won the Best Veteran award for dogs eight and older. Photo by Alec Peters.
