First District openings on county boards, commissions
First District Supervisor Susan Gorin is looking to make appointments to county boards and commissions.
Alcohol and Drug Problems Advisory Board: One vacancy. Members of this board participate in the planning process of collaborative short and long term goals and objectives for alcohol and other drug service delivery for all segments of the community; assist in the development of appropriate and effective evaluation strategies for programs; assist in the process to address current and future service needs; encourage and educate the public to understand the nature of alcohol and other drug problems; and encourage community support of alcohol and drug programs.
The board meets every Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Orenda Center, meeting room #1, 1430 Neotomas Ave., Santa Rosa.
Commission on the Status of Women: One vacancy. The Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) was established in 1975 to promote equal rights and opportunities that enhance the quality of life for all women and girls, and to address issues of discrimination and prejudice that negatively affect women in Sonoma County.
The commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Permit and Resource Management Department Hearing Room, 2550 Ventura Ave., Santa Rosa.
Flood Control Advisory Committee Valley of the Moon Watershed Zone 3A: One vacancy. Members of this committee are representative of agricultural, residential, municipal and commercial interests within this designated zone and advise on flood control matters.
