Saturday April 13th 2013 -
Join “Bill & Dave Hikes” Saturday, April 13, for a hike at the McCormick addition to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.
The entrance to McCormick is through Hood Mountain Regional Park, located at the end of Los Alamos Road, off of Hwy. 12. Meet at 9:45 a.m. at the second gate of the access road. This 10-mile strenuous hike requires climbing a total of 2,100 feet in elevation and will last approximately six hours. Among the splendid views, hikers will enjoy the Grandmother Oak, the largest coast live oak in Sonoma County.
Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring lunch with plenty to drink. Bring appropriate clothing for the weather, rain or shine. Be aware that we will be crossing the Santa Rosa Creek twice and that the water level could be higher than your boots! Please strongly consider carpooling since parking is limited and note that there is a parking fee.
