Hike Hood Mountain
Saturday October 26th 2013 -
On Saturday, Oct. 26, join “Bill and Dave Hikes” on a hike of the Johnson Ridge Trail at Hood Mountain Regional Park.
Meet at 9:45 a.m. for a prompt 10 a.m. departure. Plans are to hike from just north of Highway 12 up to the Hood Mountain Trail, cross over to the Hood Mountain summit, enjoy Gunsight Rock for a late lunch, and then return.
This is a very strenuous hike of 11 miles with an elevation gain of 2,400 feet and will last approximately six hours. Plan to wear layered clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. Bring a lunch and plenty of liquids and remember the hike is rain or shine.
Directions: Turn north off of Highway 12 at Pythian Road. Angle left onto Rancho Los Guilicos Road and park at the first parking lot on the right.
