Hike in Hood Mountain Regional Park

Hood Mountain Regional Park - Pythian Entrance

Saturday October 11th 2014 - 8:45am to

Go for a hike with Bill & Dave Hikes on Saturday, Oct.11, on the Johnson Ridge Trail at Hood Mountain Regional Park. Meet at the parking lot at 8:45 a.m. for a prompt 9 a.m. departure.

Plans are to hike from just north of Sonoma Hwy. up to the Hood Mountain Trail, cross over to the Hood Mountain summit to enjoy Gunsight Rock for lunch and then return. This is a very strenuous hike of 11 miles with an elevation gain of 2,400 feet and will last approximately six hours. Plan to wear layered clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. Bring a lunch and plenty of liquids and hike rain or shine.

To find the parking lot, turn north off of Sonoma Hwy. at Pythian Road. Veer left onto Rancho Los Guilicos Road and park at the first parking lot on the right. For more information call Dave at 539-8847 or Bill at 833-6288, or visit www.billanddavehikes.com.
