Solar viewing and star party
Saturday September 23rd 2017 -
Sept. 23 and 30
There are two chances to see the sun and the stars this month. During the solar viewing, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., there will be solar telescopes set up so you can safely look at and listen to the sun. Admission is free. There is an $8 Sugarloaf parking fee.
Star parties start at 8 p.m. The observatory’s three main telescopes plus many others will be open for viewing. Ongoing presentations on astronomical topics will be given in the classroom, and docents will be on hand to answer your questions. Admission to the Star Party is $3 per adult, with those under 18 free.
