All about Chinese culture at SIR #92

Oakmont Berger Center

Tuesday September 11th 2018 - 11:00am to

With the current state of the world, understanding the true China has never been more important. The speaker for the Sept. 11 SIR Branch 92 meeting will be Nan Su, discussing “Wisdom and Humanity from Ancient Chinese Culture,” which will reveal the ancient philosophies deeply rooted in Chinese culture since its very beginning and explain how traditional Chinese culture built upon these philosophies.

Su came to the U.S. in 1989 and has been a news commentator for SOH International Chinese Radio Network and NTD International TV network since 2003. In addition to his media work, Su has also been an activist for China’s human rights. He was one of the coordinators for the Human Rights Torch Relay in 2008 prior to the Beijing Olympic Games. Su holds a masters degree in engineering and lives in San Jose with his wife and two daughters.

SIR 92 is a local chapter of Sons in Retirement that meets monthly at the Berger Center. Social hour begins at 11 a.m. with no-host bar, followed by luncheon with three choices of entrée, salad and dessert. Each month features an interesting speaker on a variety of topics. All interested new members are welcome.
