See stars, sun at observatory

On Saturday, Jan. 5, there is solar viewing at the Robert Ferguson Observatory at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Solar telescopes will be set up so you can safely look at and listen to the sun, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. There is an $8 Sugarloaf parking fee.
Also on Jan. 5, there will be a Star Party from 6 p.m. to midnight. The observatory’s three main telescopes plus many others will be open for viewing. Ongoing presentations on astronomical topics will be given in the classroom. Docents will be on hand to answer your questions.
Admission to the Star Party is $3 per adult, those under 18 are free. Sugarloaf parking is $8. Drive all the way up Adobe Canyon Road in Kenwood to reach the park and the observatory.
