7 p.m. –
This program will feature a talk, suitable for all ages, on objects in our local galaxy, the Milky Way, and very deep space objects beyond. The observatory’s three large telescopes – an eight-inch refractor, a 40-inch reflector, and a 20-inch astrophotography system – will be available for you to see all of the wonderful and mesmerizing objects so far from Earth. Participants will get plenty of time at the telescope eyepieces and the observatory will be staffed by knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers eager to show you the night sights, and answer any questions you may have. Tickets are available through BrownPaperTickets.com; $25 per adult and $20 for seniors (62+) and youth under 18. Sugarloaf parking is $8. Drive all the way up Adobe Canyon Road in Kenwood to reach the park and the observatory.
