Walking meditation has been practiced for centuries in many parts of the world, and as a healing tool in many spiritual and religious traditions. The everyday activity of walking, combined with an awareness of oneís breath, oneís own body in motion, and oneís surroundings, can reward the mindful walker with a deep calm and increased sense of belonging in the natural world. Explore this lovely activity on a relaxed, 1.5-mile moderate walk to Jack Londonís Lake, led by Jeff Falconer. If you desire, you can extend your mindful experience another three miles. Participants will get a brief overview of walking meditation, followed by a short standing meditation to ground and center you before embarking. Heavy rain will cancel. Meet at the ranch parking lot. Cost is $15 (plus parking). Visit jacklondonpark.com/mindful-walk.html for more.
