Funky Fridays concerts at Hood Mansion

Hood House

Friday June 21st 2019 - 5:30pm to

Funky Fridays summer concert series returns to the lawn of the historic Hood Mansion on Pythian Road this month, thanks to the ongoing partnership of Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation and concert organizers Bill Myers and Linda Pavlak. The 13-evening live music series will begin on Friday, June 7, and runs through Aug. 30.

The 2019 concert series opens June 7 with the popular Levi Lloyd & Friends. In subsequent weeks, audiences will again enjoy The Bluesburners, The Big Fit (formerly known as Frobeck), Volker Strifler Band, Poyntlyss Sistars Band, Dylan Black Project, Gator Nation, Soulshine, Rock and Roll Rhythm Revue, Jami Jamison Band, Soul Fuse, and Stax City. The popular Funky Dozen will close out the season.

Kenwood Vineyards will serve as the lead wine sponsor, with St. Francis Winery and Landmark Vineyards each donating wine for one night of the concert series. Additional wine donors include Wine Spectrum, Chateau St. Jean, Kunde and Korbel. New this year, Palooza Gastropub will be the exclusive beer partner. No outside alcohol is permitted at the venue, and concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy scrumptious foods from the on-site vendors – featuring Picazo Café, Tri-Tip Trolley, Phat Salads, and Rainy Day Chocolates.

“Thanks to the generosity of Funky Fridays founders Linda and Bill, we have made a variety of improvements to Regional Parks in the Sonoma Valley,” said Melissa Kelley, executive director of the nonprofit Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation. “Funky Fridays helped repair fire damage to the Hood Mountain fire road, supported volunteer park projects, provided transportation for preschool-aged children to visit Sonoma Valley Regional Park, protected wildlife and park visitors by installing ‘bear boxes,’ and much more!”

Funky Fridays gates open at 5:30 p.m., show runs 7-9 p.m. Adult admission is $10. Children 18 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance. Parking is free.
