Daylong meditation at the Kenwood Depot
Sunday June 23rd 2019 -
The Santa Rosa Zen Group is hosting a daylong meditation, “Grounding Ourselves in Compassion,” at the Kenwood Depot on Sunday, June 23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Come for all or part of a day of reflection, silence and encouragement to put compassion first. The program includes sitting in stillness with periods of guided meditation, slow walking meditation, and outdoor walking meditation, Dharma talk, movement awareness exercise, Oryoki lunch (instruction provided), and one-to-one interviews with teacher for assistance with practice focus.
“When we are feeling anxious and vulnerable, it is easy to lose our commitment to being kind and compassionate toward others,” said instructor Diane Moore. “In this time when division is encouraged and our fears are fueled by headlines and soundbites, it is more important than ever to take time to ground ourselves in our commitment to keep compassion to the forefront.”
Cost is $25 for Santa Rosa Zen Group members, $40 for non-members. To register, go to www.SantaRosaZenGroup.org. Register by June 17.
