PG&E hosts Kenwood meeting to discuss power shutoffs

Kenwood Fire Station

Sunday August 11th 2019 - 10:00am to

On Sunday, Aug. 11, 10 a.m.-noon, Sonoma Valley Fire & Rescue Authority, Kenwood Fire Protection District, and Mayacamas Fire Safe Council will host Herman Hernandez, public affairs representative for Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E).

The presentation will be at the Kenwood Fire Station, 9045 Sonoma Hwy.

Hernandez will discuss the anticipated Public Safety Power Shutoffs. These are the power shutdowns during extreme weather conditions.

He will share the need for them, the process, why they will target certain areas, and how to deal with the outage. After the presentation, attendees will have a chance to ask questions and interact with the PG&E and fire staff present. This is also a great time to get to know your neighbors and strategize for these events, as well as other emergencies. Information will be available on the SCOPE program, and you will be able to sign up for emergency alerts in Sonoma County.

There will snacks and beverages at the meeting, and plenty of seating. Please carpool, if possible, as that would make the parking situation much better.

If you have questions, contact Jim Comisky at Sonoma Valley Fire, 929-4159.
