Soroptimists seek volunteers
Monday October 14th 2019 -
Organizers of a new Soroptimist Club in Oakmont are holding an informational meeting on Monday, Oct. 14, 6 p.m., at 273 Belgreen Pl., Oakmont. The club is open to women in Oakmont, Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and the surrounding areas, who are looking for opportunities to improve the lives of women and girls through social and economic empowerment.
The club will be part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, a global volunteer organization for women. Soroptimists volunteer their talents and energy to help women and girls live their dreams every day by giving them the resources to create positive change – for themselves, their families and their communities.
The club is being organized by Phyllis Rogers, a long-time Soroptimist member of Soroptimist International of Santa Rosa. Rogers said, “Our club will offer opportunities to participate in programs that change lives, as well as to develop lifelong friendships and a network of global connections. The name, Soroptimist, means ‘best for women,’ and that’s what our club will strive to achieve.”
If you want to attend the informational meeting, please contact Rogers at 477-6771. Bring a dish to share.
