He will discuss how to harness language for better communication, stronger relationships and results that matter. Come to this talk to step out of your everyday world and gather new practical tools for living well. Come to be stopped in your tracks, your mind expanded, stretched and changed... your heart ever so slightly on fire.

Oct. 27 – “The Forever Home: Stay in Your Home?” by Iris Harrell

After remodeling hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms and entire homes for other people, Harrell will tell the story of her own quest to design and build an accessible and sustainable dream home that she and her partner could live in forever. Many people would prefer to live in their own homes throughout their life. If that’s your choice – or if you are mulling over different options – come learn simple things you could do to make your “forever home.”

Harrell, retired CEO and founder of Harrell Remodeling, and Senior Designer Genie Nowicki will point out what is necessary to make your home fully accessible, along with considerations for a future caregiver.

The Sunday Symposium meets 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Berger Center. A $3 donation is requested, or you can get a $50 pass, which includes all the lectures through May. For more information go to
