Wildland fire home assessment training in Kenwood
Saturday December 7th 2019 -
Fire Safe Sonoma is sponsoring a free Wildland Fire Assessment Program (WFAP) training to help organizations become better prepared for wildland fire emergencies. The training will be held on Dec. 7 and 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Kenwood Fire station, 9045 Sonoma Hwy. in Kenwood.
The course is a two-part training (classroom and hands-on). It is set up in a train-the-trainer format so students will be able to take the information learned, along with a toolkit and supplemental resources, back to their respective organizations and teach people how to properly conduct a home assessment in the wildland-urban interface.
The course is free and open to anyone wishing to learn more about wildfire home assessments, including fire department personnel, Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies (COPE); homeowners’ associations, fire safe councils, and more.
There are a limited number of seats, so register early. Deadline to register is Saturday, Nov. 16. Go to bit.ly/WFAP-Sonoma.
