Hip Hop therapy at Hanna
Thursday December 5th 2019 -
Rhythmic Mind is a Hop-Hop Therapy organization serving at-risk teens and transitional age youth in the greater Bay Area through beat making and rhyme writing.
Rhythmic Mind cofounders Jonah Scott and Max Kline will be at Hanna Boys Center on Thursday, Dec. 5, 6-8 p.m., as part of the Hanna Institute Networking Series.
Scott and Kline co-founded Rhythmic Mind as a way to reach a demographic they were finding was resistant to traditional talk therapy. Their work is particularly meaningful for marginalized youth who are at greater risk of experiencing trauma over the course of their young lives.
Trauma changes brain development and leads to behavioral issues. It hinders youths’ ability to maintain meaningful relationships and their ability to self regulate.
Cost is $30. Hanna Boys Center is located at 17000 Arnold Dr., Sonoma. Sign up at Hannainstitute.org.
