Symphony Chief at Kiwanis

Oakmont Berger Center

Thursday February 6th 2020 - 5:30pm to

Kiwanis evening speaker SR Symphony chief

As part of the Kiwanis Club of Oakmont’s plan to make their informative speakers more accessible to Oakmont residents, Alan Silow, president and CEO of the Santa Rosa Symphony (and an Oakmont resident), will speak on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Oakmont Berger Center. He will talk about the future of the Symphony at this turning point in its musical leadership as well as programs he has led into development such as the youth orchestras and school programs that have been so successful in the county.

Silow has been head of the Santa Rosa Symphony since 2002 after an effective career as financial officer of musical organizations in other cities. Since joining the Symphony here he played a major role in the completion of the Green Music Center, the public/private cooperative relation of the Symphony and Sonoma State University, and the expansion of the Symphony to a major music organization with a solid financial foundation for its work.

These Public Lecture Series events are scheduled for the first Thursday evening of each month. Wine and cheese will be served before the talk.
