Hike the Johnson Ridge Trail with Bill & Dave

Hood Mountain Regional Park - Pythian Entrance

Saturday October 18th 2008 - 9:45am to 4:00pm

On Saturday, Oct. 18, join “Bill and Dave Hikes” as they hike this relatively new trail at Hood Mt. Regional Park. Please meet at 9:45 am for a prompt 10 am departure. Plans are to hike from just north of Hwy. 12 up to the Hood Mt. Trail, cross over to the Hood Mt. summit, enjoy Gunsight Rock for a late lunch, and return. This is a very strenuous hike of 11 miles with an elevation gain of 2,400 feet and will last approximately six hours. Plan to wear layered clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. Bring a lunch and plenty of liquids and remember we hike rain or shine.

DIRECTIONS: Turn north off of Hwy. 12 at Pythian Rd. Angle left onto Rancho Los Guilicos Rd., and then park at the first parking lot on the right.

For more information contact Bill Myers at 833-6288, or Dave Chalk at 539-8847, or check us out at www.sonic.net/~fmi/daveandbill.html. These hikes are sponsored by the Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, California State Parks, and Sonoma County Regional Parks.
