Hood Mountain hike

Hood Mountain Regional Park - Pythian Entrance

Sunday August 30th 2009 - 9:00am to

On Aug. 30, the Sierra Club is sponsoring a Hood Mountain hike. Starting at the lower lot of the new Johnson Ridge Trail, the hike will go to Hood Mountain summit, and return via the Goodspeed trail to the Adobe Canyon parking area.

This is a nine-mile, strenuous hike with over 1,700 feet elevation gain. Bring lunch, water and sturdy hiking boots. Meet at 9 a.m. at the lower lot of the Johnson Ridge trail (Pythian Road). This will be a car shuttle hike, so cars will need to be managed at the Adobe Canyon trailhead. For more information, call hike leader Jim Gannon at 525-1052.
