Bouverie Audubon Preserve

Saturday May 14th 2011 - 2:00pm to 5:30pm

Auction donations and sponsorships still needed

Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen is hosting “The Art of Eating: a Tribute to MFK Fisher,” a special food and wine event on May 14, from 2-5:30 p.m.

Mary Frances Fisher’s philosophy and approach to food and its preparation influenced many of the best chefs and food writers of today. A close friend of David Bouverie, who donated the 535-acre oak studded property to Audubon Canyon Ranch (ACR) in 1979, MFK Fisher spent the last 20 years of her life living at the preserve, and entertained friends such as Julia Child and Alice Waters, while publishing more than six books.

The event is sponsored by the San Francisco Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, Julie Atwood Events, and Bank of Marin. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available, and organizers are seeking donations for the silent auction as well.

Ticket price is $125. The proceeds from this event will benefit the programs of ACR, with its mission to protect nature through environmental education, conservation science and ecosystem restoration.

For more information, to participate with auction items or sponsorship, or to purchase tickets, please call 415-868-9244, ext. 14, or visit www.egret.org to learn more.
